A key function of the Council is to support the professional development of those working in or aspiring to work in the cyber security profession. These provide the guiding principles within which the participating organisations and individual professionals can demonstrate good practice.

The Council is structured to provide coordinated strong leadership – through a variety of content and engagement platforms – to the profession and industry in the UK, 在网络安全领域之外也是如此. The Council was conceived initially as part of the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Strategy (NCSS) 2016-2021 document, which set out ambitions to develop and accredit the cyber security profession.
